About The Position

A Bay Area general contractor is hiring a Project Manager to run ground-up multifamily construction work. The Project Manager owns one project at a time alongside the superintendent, from mobilization through closeout, and has a meaningful role in determining how the project is built. This is a direct-hire, full-time position based in the San Jose office, with regular time at the project site. The employer is seeking Bay Area local candidates and does not offer relocation. U.S. work authorization is required.

Requirements

• Multifamily project management experience.
• At least 5 years of construction project management experience, including time as an assistant project manager (APM).
• Experience taking projects from start to finish.
• Comfort using Procore or similar project management software.
• U.S. work authorization.
• Bay Area local candidate; relocation is not offered.

• Experience with affordable housing and prevailing wage work.

Responsibilities

• Run the project with the superintendent from startup through closeout.
• Own project cost, schedule, and quality.
• Coordinate the design team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Lead and develop the assistant project manager (APM), project engineer, and project administrator assigned to the project.
• Serve as the owner's day-to-day contact.
• Maintain accurate cost reports and forecasts.
• Manage prevailing wage, insurance, and safety requirements.
