About The Position

Wayne Brothers is hiring a Project Manager / Estimator for civil sitework and grading. The role may be based at the company’s Davidson, NC headquarters, Eagleville, TN office, or Walterboro, SC location. The position is part of a close-knit preconstruction team at a design-build specialty contractor and involves bidding entire projects, rather than individual portions. The work includes varied projects and access to BIM modelers for takeoffs and current software programs. The role covers estimating and preconstruction activities, with some responsibilities continuing into the construction phase. The Project Manager / Estimator reviews project documents, develops bid strategies, completes quantity takeoffs, identifies vendor and subcontractor needs, and develops preliminary schedules and project sequences. During construction, the role reviews drawing revisions and project updates to help the Operations Team price changes and communicates changes to proposed bid sequences and schedules.

Requirements

A minimum of a 2-year degree; a 4-year degree is preferred.
At least 4 years of estimating experience or 5 years of project management experience.

Experience with estimating and takeoff software.

Responsibilities

Review project documents to determine scope and bid strategy.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
Determine vendor and subcontractor needs.
Develop preliminary schedules and project sequences.
Review drawing revisions and project updates during construction to assist the Operations Team in pricing changes.
Notify the Operations Team of changes in proposed bid sequence and schedule.
Manage estimate information in an organized and neat fashion.
Update and maintain preconstruction reporting.
Work as part of the Preconstruction Team to achieve company goals.
