About The Position

APN Consulting, Inc. is seeking a senior-level Project Manager to lead ERP finance initiatives involving SAP Financial Accounting processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP). The role coordinates business stakeholders, finance teams, IT teams, and technical resources to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. The work arrangement is hybrid, with three days onsite per week in Midtown New York City. The Project Manager will oversee ERP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and process improvement initiatives. The role includes managing project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, budgets, deliverables, and change requests, as well as supporting requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and business readiness. The position also supports financial process improvements, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end or year-end close initiatives while maintaining project documentation, governance, and implementation standards.

Requirements

7+ years of project management experience in ERP, finance transformation, or enterprise IT initiatives.
Demonstrated experience managing SAP Finance projects involving GL, AR, and AP.
Strong understanding of core accounting processes, financial operations, and ERP integrations.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and senior business stakeholders.
Proficiency in project planning, risk management, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work onsite in New York City three days per week.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or SAP ECC Financial Accounting (FI).
Experience with ERP implementation, migration, or finance transformation programs.
Familiarity with financial close, reconciliation, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash processes.
PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification.
Experience working with large enterprise finance organizations and system integrators.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end ERP finance projects, including implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
Coordinate SAP Finance workstreams covering General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP).
Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and budgets.
Work with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and align project objectives.
Facilitate workshops, project status meetings, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.
Coordinate functional consultants, technical teams, system integrators, and business users.
Oversee requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
Support financial process improvements, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end or year-end close initiatives.
Monitor project deliverables, manage change requests, and escalate risks or blockers as needed.
Maintain project documentation, governance, and implementation standards.
Deliver project milestones and agreed scope, coordinate SAP Finance workstreams and stakeholders, and support successful testing, deployment, business readiness, and improvements in financial process efficiency, controls, and reporting accuracy.
