About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Construction Manager II to work in Southern California. Experience in these specialty areas is preferred. Within AECOM’s Program Management business line, the position manages one or more complex projects, potentially involving multiple services, regional clients, or other project complexities. The manager may oversee projects from preliminary design through closeout, typically working independently with guidance for unusual or complex issues. The role manages project staff and may supervise senior architects and engineers, project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives. The role serves as the Owner’s Authorized Representative, coordinates with client departments and other stakeholders, assists with bid and contract planning, assesses bid specifications, and monitors contracts for architects and other consultants. It leads design management across all phases, coordinates design teams, controls and reports on design-phase cost, budget, and schedule, supports pre-design budgeting and scheduling, manages user and stakeholder coordination, and coordinates permits and jurisdictional approvals. Responsibilities also include construction logistics, bidding, construction contract review and coordination, and prequalification. During construction and project controls, the manager reviews progress against schedules, evaluates change orders and their impacts, monitors schedule and cost variances, verifies payment applications, and manages project finances. The role provides functional direction for schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control; resolves complex project issues and disputes; and monitors construction contracts while providing on-site oversight of general contractors, consultants, and subcontractors. The position is based in Southern California, with Los Angeles listed as the primary location, and follows a hybrid work model. Relocation is not available, and AECOM is not offering sponsorship. Newly hired employees must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
