About The Position

Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Project Manager 2 position supporting technology project delivery within a complex, matrixed program environment at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Join the ERP Modernization Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory and help transform critical Supply Chain and Manufacturing business processes supporting one of the nation's premier scientific institutions. As a Project Manager, you will coordinate business and technical teams, drive project execution, and ensure successful delivery of ERP modernization initiatives within a highly collaborative, matrixed program environment. Working alongside program leadership, functional stakeholders, and technical teams, you will play a key role in delivering projects that improve operational efficiency while supporting LANL's national security mission.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of professional work experience, including significant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong organizational, planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and ERP business processes.
  • Experience producing professional project documentation, including: Project Charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), Project schedules, Technical documentation.
  • Ability to partner with customers while defining expectations and mutual responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies, tools, budgeting, scheduling, and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of project controls, risk management, and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience preparing detailed project status reports.
  • Ability to work onsite approximately two days per week (or more as required).
  • Must be a local candidate able to support onsite meetings in Santa Fe and Los Alamos.
  • Must be eligible for LANL A-Level Access.

  • Experience serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
  • Ability to quickly onboard and contribute with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
  • DOE Q Clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Supply Chain and Manufacturing projects of low to moderate complexity through the complete project lifecycle.
  • Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout activities.
  • Develop and maintain project charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), schedules, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate activities across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, business owners, technical teams, vendors, and program leadership.
  • Track project scope, schedule, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project performance against schedule and budget while implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support project governance, reporting, and program controls.
  • Partner with customers and stakeholders to establish expectations and resolve project issues.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Coordinate operational readiness and transition activities upon project completion.
  • Participate in project budget planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Develop status reports and provide project performance updates.
  • Support project teams operating within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Contribute to achieving organizational goals while operating with limited direction.
