FWLE Project Management Intern - Summer 2026

ST Public BrandingSeattle, WA
2d$22 - $39Onsite

About The Position

Sound Transit’s Capital Delivery department is planning, designing, and building a world class transit system throughout the Puget Sound region. The Project Management intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the Federal Way Link Extension (FWLE) team. The team is based in our Downtown Seattle campus at Union Station. FWLE opened for revenue service on December 6, 2025, but we still have a lot of work to do to close out the contract, including major projects that extend beyond the opening of the Federal Way Link Extension. One of the major ongoing efforts is the Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP), a comprehensive initiative to mitigate noise impacts in communities adjacent to Sound Transit Light Rail facilities. RSIP supports equitable, healthy, and sustainable neighborhoods through noise and vibration mitigation grounded in best practices and community-centered strategies. The Project Management Intern will be fully integrated into the RSIP team composed of construction managers, architects, engineers, real estate specialists, and acoustical and environmental experts. Interns will support program and project closeout for the Federal Way Link Extension and assist in the analysis and development of RSIP for FWLE and other Sound Transit corridors. This role offers hands-on experience with project management, integrated documentation, procurement support, research, dashboarding, and cross departmental coordination. The internship provides direct exposure to transit projects, equity-focused mitigation, and real-world delivery of public infrastructure programs.
