About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to lead and support cross-functional projects within our manufacturing operations at our St. Albans, VT factory. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects that improve process efficiency, implement new equipment or processes, and support product launches. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent project management and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Requirements

  • 5-7 Years experience in project engineering or related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering or capital equipment projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Understanding of project management principles, early equipment management, lean manufacturing, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
  • Projects include execution of ice cream packaging line install, ice cream process improvements, plant utilities modifications, refrigeration projects, and civil construction of buildings.
  • Review engineering drawings, align the drawings with site Safety, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams before finalizing and supervising the execution of projects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and external vendors
  • Design, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process improvements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, risk assessments, and progress reports
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company best practices
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, process flows, and SOPs
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement engineering solutions to improve reliability and throughput
  • Track project performance metrics and communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead project using EEM (Early Equipment Management) methodology.
  • Forecasting of Capex spend and tracking.
