About The Position

The Project Cost Estimator (PCE) produces cost estimates for targeted projects and material sales. Estimates evaluate costs for materials, labor, processing, and additional services required to complete a project. This information supports decision-making about projected profitability and the company’s ability to deliver projects profitably within the customer’s required scope and timetable.

Requirements

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with the application.
Strong math and analytical skills.
A college bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in finance or project management.
Ability to work overtime or irregular hours may be required to meet project estimating volume.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare project time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Assess the cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services and track actual costs against estimates as projects develop.
Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss estimates and resolve open items.
Discuss changes with the project team and adjust cost estimates.
Prepare estimates to support planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Prepare estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors.
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
Identify needed resources and assign individual responsibilities.
Prepare for project reviews and quality assurance procedures.
Ensure project estimate documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Comply with and help enforce standard policies and procedures.
