About The Position

We are seeking a recent graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years of experience) who is interested in developing into a Project Manager to join our construction team in Naperville, IL. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting construction projects from planning through completion. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn project management fundamentals including estimating, scheduling, field coordination, procurement, and subcontractor management. This is an in-office position with no flex or work-from-home option available

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering plans
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred but not required
  • Internship or work experience in construction or heavy equipment environments
  • Familiarity with equipment logistics or fleet management

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking to ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Perform pipeline takeoffs and assist with project estimating
  • Order materials and aggregates and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and equipment rentals for project needs
  • Assist with heavy equipment fleet coordination and logistics
  • Communicate with project managers and field teams regarding project status and material availability
  • Ensure crews have the tools, materials, and resources needed to meet project goals
  • Track project progress and maintain documentation related to schedules, materials, and changes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation including SOPs and project submittals
  • Maintain vendor relationships and assist with procurement activities
  • Support safety initiatives and assist with basic safety management tasks
  • Help identify and resolve project issues to keep projects moving forward
  • Support senior staff with additional tasks as needed
