About The Position

AMS Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for its AMS Operations business unit based in Torrance, CA. This is a hands-on role for a candidate who enjoys managing multiple aerospace/defense projects in a fast-paced environment, working with various product types, coordinating with multiple departments, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects. AMS Group, Inc. is a leading distributor, manufacturer, and supplier of engineered aerospace and defense systems, components, and subsystems.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and management skills.
• Ability to manage own workload: plan, track, and communicate progress proactively.
• Flexible and adaptable to change, creative problem solver.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project coordination.
• US Citizenship required.
• Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

• Experience using MS Project, Smartsheet, or comparable project management software preferred.
• Limited travel required in support of supplier and customer visits.
• Experience working in the Aerospace / Defense industry is preferred.
• Technical background and/or experience is preferred.
• Experience using an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Correspond with suppliers and negotiate component pricing in support of project proposals.
• Plan and manage procurement and supplier selection in coordination with Production and Engineering.
• Draft purchase orders in support of procurement plans.
• Follow up with suppliers and ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain and update project schedules and status.
• Communicate with key customers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure project milestones are met.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams in Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance.
