About The Position

The National Research Council (NRC) is Canada's largest research and innovation organization, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of science and engineering. They foster a supportive workplace that values creativity, fresh perspectives, and teamwork. The NRC is seeking a Project Administrator to support their National Programs Office (NPO). This role is crucial for advancing the Collaborative Science, Technology and Innovation Program (CSTIP) and Grants and Contributions (G&C) programs through the development of the FUSION portal and Client Relationship Management solution. The Project Administrator will provide project coordination, support organizational change management, develop management reporting, and contribute to process improvements. This is a demanding, collaborative, and fast-paced role offering significant experience in enterprise systems, project coordination, organizational change management, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of a Bachelor’s degree in another field with relevant experience and training.
  • Significant and recent experience in leading project management activities in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Significant and recent experience documenting, analyzing, and improving complex business information, processes, workflows, and roles in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Significant and recent experience with SharePoint, MS Project, Excel, MS Dynamics and Power Platform, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Recent experience supporting organizational change management, including stakeholder engagement, user support, development of communications and designing training or guidance materials, and contribution to rollout or adoption activities.
  • Experience in preparing a variety of reports based on data collected to support management decision-making.
  • Solid knowledge of the theories, principles and applications of formal project management.
  • Solid knowledge of system design and software development lifecycle principles and approaches.
  • Knowledge of Transfer Payment program policies.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new processes, methods or practices that improve project and/or program management.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in project management at a university, College or PMI Registered Education Providers.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong project coordination on the NPO side, ensuring internal activities, inputs, decisions, and deliverables are aligned with the vendor’s project plan and timelines.
  • Support NPO FUSION team members in meeting their responsibilities related to requirements, validation, testing, release readiness, and ongoing stabilization.
  • Support the definition and validation of business requirements for major FUSION releases.
  • Help prepare the organization for change by building awareness, developing and delivering training and user guidance, and supporting adoption and stabilization following releases.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting and dashboards.
  • Support data quality and analysis activities.
  • Contribute practical recommendations to improve processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Support project planning and financial tracking using FUSION, SAP, SharePoint, and Excel.
