About The Position

This is a Progressive Care Unit position with 15 beds, consisting of 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU. The position is for the night shift, from 1845 to 0715, with scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. There is no guarantee of hours and no call required. The unit operates 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Active State of HI license required by the start of the assignment.
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
• Meditech charting.
• Experience with Pyxis for medications.
• Experience with BIPAP.
• Experience with continuous cardiac monitoring.

Nice To Haves

• Progressive Care experience preferred.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Current PALS preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care.
• Perform telemetry monitoring.
• Read telemetry strips.
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks.
• Float to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.
