About The Position
This position is for a Progressive Care Unit within a healthcare facility. The unit consists of 15 beds, including 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU. The shift is the night shift, from 1845 to 0715, with scheduled hours of 36 per week following the first week of orientation. There is no guarantee of hours, and no on-call duties are required. The unit operates 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Holiday coverage may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
- At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
- BLS/BCLS
- ACLS
- A Hawaii Nursing License is required prior to the start of the assignment.
Nice To Haves
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience is preferred.
- PALS certification is preferred.
- NIHSS certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care
- Monitor telemetry patients
- Read telemetry strips
- Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests
