Children’s Minnesota is seeking a casual call Program Therapist I or II to join the dedicated Inpatient Mental Health team in St. Paul. This team provides 24/7 psychiatric care to stabilize children and adolescents between the ages of 6-18 with immediate acute safety concerns. The 22 inpatient health unit cares for kids as young as 6 years old up to 18 and still in high school in a supportive and therapeutic environment. The schedule is as needed, with a minimum of two shifts per month required to remain casual status. The Acute Mental Health department includes partial hospitalization programs and the inpatient mental health unit, offering short-term stabilization services for acute mental health concerns that pose a safety risk or significant impact on daily functioning. The Program Therapist collaborates with the multi-disciplinary care team to develop treatment goals, assess progress, and plan for discharge or transition. They provide individual, family, and group therapy in an acute mental health setting and offer crisis intervention, resource mobilization, and triage of psychosocial, emotional, or behavioral concerns. Program Therapists are trained in using physical holds and restraints and may be required to support or facilitate them in high-stress situations. A Program Therapist II may also provide clinical supervision.
