About The Position

This position provides resource support to staff and program participants to facilitate agency and program goals. The Program Aid is responsible for planning meals, purchasing food, assisting program participants in preparing healthy eating choices, and supervising the cleanup of the kitchen and dining area. The role also includes providing other program activity support, such as driving participants to appointments. Maintaining good relationships with the Department of Health and local food banks is crucial, with health and safety being of primary importance. Additionally, the Program Aid acts as a peer mentor and provides social model recovery activities.

Requirements

• A combination of experience, education and /or training which would substantially demonstrate the ability to perform the duties listed below
• At least one year of continuous sobriety
• If in recovery, an active member of a mutual self-help group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous
• One year of related experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug addictions
• Clean driving record
• CPR and First Aid (to be completed upon hiring)
• Health Code Training/Safe Serve (to be completed upon hiring)
• Employees will be required to have a TB test, fingerprinted, and will be subject to clearance by the Department of Justice and screened for fitness for duty

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
