About The Position

The Lead Therapist delivers individual, group, family, and/or couples therapy while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients and their families. This role also supports the Site/Executive Director and/or Clinical Manager by providing clinical and administrative oversight to the program, offering guidance to therapists and the BHS teams, and serving as a backup for the leadership when necessary. The position may be supervised, if required based on licensure status, or filled by an independently licensed professional.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral sciences field required.
  • Individual, family, or group psychotherapy experience required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Current Provisional or Associate licensure required in the state of employment required. (Therapist I)
  • Current independent licensure in the state of employment required. (Therapist II)

Nice To Haves

  • DBT, CBT, FBT experience preferred.
  • Eating Disorders treatment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions with the client and their family/community of support as assigned.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors individualized treatment plans.
  • Conducts therapy utilizing evidence-based treatments.
  • Participates in therapeutic supported meals.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings by reporting client and family assessment findings and response to interventions.
  • Contributes to multidisciplinary case conceptualization and treatment planning.
  • Communicates and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Conducts intake evaluations as assigned.
  • Maintains clinical productivity in alignment with the organization and program expectations.
  • Assists with milieu management as needed.
  • Communicates with UR team to provide clinical data necessary for insurance continued stay reviews.
  • Generates discharge plans by making treatment and other recommendations, and coordinating next level of care services.
  • Collaborates with Accanto and community professionals, and community agencies to coordinate next level of care services and maintain continuity of care.
  • Participates in administrative and clinical supervision as scheduled and seeks supervision when needed.
  • Engages in self-evaluation process, seeking feedback regarding own practice, from clients, peers, professional colleagues, and others.
  • Participates in case consultation meetings.
  • Participates in site based and national Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Maintains clinical records in compliance with Accanto policies and regulatory standards.
  • May conduct internal and external presentations.
  • Maintains up-to-date therapeutic skills and knowledge of advancements in eating disorders assessment and treatment, best practices, and resources through participation in professional organizations, internal and external training opportunities, and reviewing current academic literature.
  • Maintains at all times the confidentiality of former and current Accanto clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Accanto policy. Additionally, maintains confidentiality in any position with access to employee personal information.
  • Maintains at all times the confidentiality of proprietary information, which includes but is not limited to, trade secrets, sensitive company information, and generally any company information not made available to the public.
  • Assists Site/Executive Director and/or Clinical Manager in providing programming support and oversight which may include:
  • Addresses client concerns and milieu dynamics as they arise, escalating to leadership as needed.
  • Provides clinical guidance and consultation to Therapists, BHSs, and other program staff.
  • Facilitates case consult meetings as assigned by site leadership.
  • Facilitates weekly Therapist/RD consult meeting as assigned.
  • Facilitates weekly community meeting as assigned.
  • Observes groups and provides feedback to group facilitator.
  • Provides support to therapist team and function as back-up to site leadership as needed which may include:
  • Facilitating weekly therapist meeting.
  • Maintaining Therapist and BHS schedules.
  • Providing and/or assigning coverage for clinical team, as needed.
  • Assisting site leadership in monthly chart audits, providing relevant feedback and trainings as needed to individual therapists or BHSs.
