About The Position

United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Program Officer, CI to join their team. This role contributes to the development and execution of United Way’s work in the education realm, encompassing research, community engagement, strategic planning, management of investment processes and grant monitoring, and the execution of special initiatives. The organization is dedicated to tackling complex issues and driving real change in the community, focusing on equitable access to quality education, financial security, and the health of all residents. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years experience in the non-profit/social service arena.
  • Knowledge of modern web browsers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a results-based, goal-driven roadmap to achieve positive educational outcomes in Miami-Dade County, including research and community engagement to develop briefs, public policy issue identification, and policy analysis.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of priority tactics and effective management of various investment processes and grant monitoring activities.
  • Monitor assigned Impact Area agencies by conducting site visits, reviewing and recording progress and data, preparing reports and promotional materials, and providing technical assistance.
  • Effectively staff assigned Impact Council volunteers and act as a resource with a focus on services and target population.
  • Maintain effective relationships with public and private social service organizations on behalf of United Way initiatives by attending appropriate community, organizational, and committee meetings.
  • Stay informed about community programs and public policy issues, attending community meetings and events in representation of United Way.
  • Provide creative and effective support staffing to United Way initiatives, working resourcefully with collaborators and staff to plan, implement, evaluate, and follow up on special events and activities related to strategic planning and work plan preparation.
  • Explore and secure partnerships with other community organizations.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and expansion of EDEN Place and Future Bound Miami, including gathering data, meeting with staff/consortium, and reviewing outcomes data.
  • Stay up to date on local, state, and national education and youth trends.
  • Manage assigned UW agency campaigns and other matrix assignments as needed.
