About The Position

The Justice and Safety Institute within Penn State Outreach is seeking to fill the position of an Education Program Coordinator. The Education Program Coordinator provides support and assistance in the identification, development, and delivery of educational programs or initiatives; implements and evaluates program logistics related to materials, registration, record-keeping, staffing, marketing, data collection and analysis, long-range planning, and budget management. Positions within this profile are focused on community engagement and outreach directed towards external audiences (i.e., Continuing Education).

Requirements

  • Associate Degree (if filled as Education Program Coordinator - Senior Support)
  • 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted (if filled as Education Program Coordinator - Senior Support)
  • General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) (if filled as Education Program Coordinator - Intermediate Support)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted (if filled as Education Program Coordinator - Intermediate Support)
  • Required Certifications: None
  • Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the administration of an educational program to ensure program quality and effectiveness
  • Process course/program registrations; identify and recommend efficient workflows
  • Coordinate budget preparation, monitor budgets, analyze data, and initiate payments
  • Coordinate the recruitment and hiring of instructors/presenters
  • Participate in the development of marketing strategies to promote programs; oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, advertising, etc.
  • Design layout and format of project-related documents, web content, and materials
  • Make recommendations on changes/additions to both policies and portfolio of offerings based on customer feedback, evaluations, historical data, and systems capabilities
  • Recommend innovative plans for design or quality improvement of unit programs/procedures
  • Assist in developing operational goals, objectives, and standards for unit, programs, projects, etc.
  • Represent unit at internal and external meetings with stakeholders
