Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in education, career and technical education, or a related field.
  • Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement.
  • Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the content expert for Kentucky's Business and Marketing programs. Under general direction, provides consultative services and technical assistance to local school system personnel, classroom teachers and other state and private agencies in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum content in the area of business and marketing programs; and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership, consultative services and technical assistance to local school district personnel and other state and private educational agencies in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum and assessment content for KY’s Business and Marketing Education Programs at middle & high school levels. Serve on state boards related to the areas of Business and Marketing Education.
  • Collaborate with business and industry, post-secondary institutions, KDE, and professional organizations on issues relating to curriculum needs for Business and Marketing Education. Collaborate with all partners on issues related to improving instruction and the school improvement process.
  • Assist in providing leadership to the Future Business Leaders of America/Distributive Education Clubs of America student organizations by ensuring alignment of competitive events to curriculum and working with teachers in the implementation of Career Technical Student Organizations as a component of Business and Marketing Education Programs.
  • Serve on integrated teams and/or work groups as assigned to implement initiatives and priority work of the Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE).
  • Demonstrate initiative to meet needs of OCTE.
