Generation is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adults achieve economic mobility through employment. We partner with governments, employers, and other stakeholders to train and place adult learners of all ages into careers that might otherwise be inaccessible. Since 2015, Generation has grown to include a global hub and a network of in-country affiliates, with over 150,000 graduates and 23,000 employers across 50 professions and 17 countries. Our program boasts impressive statistics: 91% of learners are unemployed upon joining, with nearly half being long-term unemployed. Within three months of program completion, graduates achieve a 78% job placement rate, increasing to 88% within six months. Repeat employers hire 79% of our employed graduates, and 89% secure jobs directly related to their training. Employed graduates see an immediate increase in earnings, averaging 3-4 times their previous income. Long-term, 77% of alumni in upper-middle-income countries can meet their daily financial needs, and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generation graduates have collectively earned over $1.9 billion in wages. Our typical graduate has a secondary school background, with 52% being female, 28% having dependents, and the majority belonging to underrepresented communities.
