The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking Program Managers to enhance public safety across Arizona through modern, effective correctional practices and meaningful engagements. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Correctional experience.
  • Knowledge of ADCRR policies, procedures, and ACIS.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment principles and protocol.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques.
  • Knowledge of adult learning processes.
  • Knowledge of ADCRR policies, procedures, and security practices.
  • Knowledge of computers and various software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of business English, grammar, and spelling.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in supervisory and management.
  • Skill in building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Skill in organizational and time management.
  • Skill in counseling, interviewing, and active listening.
  • Skill in collecting and maintaining accurate clinical records, data, and documentation.

  • Ability to deliver program curriculum to inmate participants in a classroom environment.
  • Ability to professionally interact with participants, security staff, and the public in a group setting or one-on-one situations.

  • Ability to collect and maintain statistical data.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Must take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a background investigation and a drug test.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License if driving is an essential function.
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily counseling and treatment operations, ensuring effective programming and adherence to treatment standards.
  • Coordinates meetings, orientations, trainings, cohort activities, documentation, bed assignments, reporting, staff supervision, client support, and graduation planning.
  • Collaborates with custody staff and community partners.
  • Promotes quality assurance and advances departmental reentry and continuity-of-care goals.
  • Supervises treatment staff, manages schedules and caseloads, and ensures policy and audit compliance.
  • Maintains required documentation, coordinates with custody partners, and leads staff and community meetings.
  • Manages program enrollments to ensure consistent and timely delivery of rehabilitative services.
  • Implements statewide initiatives, manages curriculum development, and oversees peer-led programming.
  • Travels to facilities/institutions to assess counseling services/subordinate work products.
  • Tracks and manages substance abuse staff schedules.
  • Provides clinical supervision, reviews, and signs off on clinical documentation.
  • Liaisons between counselors and operational security staff to maximize program utilization and minimize unit operational disruption.
  • Carries a partial clinical caseload.
  • Conducts one-on-one clinical assessments and individual or group counseling sessions.
  • Facilitates substance abuse education classes and therapy groups.
  • Oversees inmate peer mentors, guest speakers, and volunteer services.
  • Maintains clinical records and writes individual substance abuse treatment plans and relapse prevention plans.
  • Reviews, maintains, and troubleshoots the program participation database.
  • Reviews, develops, and recommends policies, practices, and process improvements for accuracy.
  • Drives on State business.
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
