About The Position

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a Program Manager for Wellness and Mental Health Services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service Related field or LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/Licensed Psychologist.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to a disabled population required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and leadership to diverse staff who possess wide range skills, abilities, and professional competencies.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Must function well in a team-oriented approach to member services.
  • Must be organized and efficient in carrying out day-to-day duties.
  • Must take initiative and be proactive in approach to getting the job done with little or no direction.
  • Must be able to work with various personalities and handle aspects relating to team members with dignity and tactfulness.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled at using computer and related applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Zoom, and Electronic Health Record required.
  • Driving with current class C driver’s license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, the ability to be insured by MHALA’s liability insurance are conditions of employment.
  • TB clearance and re-testing every year are conditions of continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred.
  • Non-profit social service agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and supervise the work of the Wellness Center Team.
  • Hire, supervise, train, direct, evaluate, reward, and support staff in accordance with organizational policy and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Wellness Center team’s day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent care and services are provided to members/clients and ensuring compliance with program requirements, DMH, and MHALA standards.
  • Support staff in the provision of services that link members and other clients to meet member/client goals and needs.
  • Complete, and assist and support staff in meeting program documentation standards in accordance with MHALA and funding source standards and requirements to ensure program compliance and accountability.
  • Track, assess, and document how effectively the program meets its objectives.
  • Participate as an active member of management staff, quality improvement, safety committee, domains, or other leadership teams as needed or assigned.
  • Participate in community constituency groups as needed.
  • Assist and participate in the planning of staff development activities.
  • Organize, lead, and participate in team, staff, and community meetings.
  • Read, perform research, attend workshops or seminars as Agency sees fit and as it relates to program needs; participate in other professional development activities in order to maintain and enhance personal and professional skills related to program needs.
  • Maintain the skills necessary to mentor and support the Wellness Team in accordance with the expectations outlined in the DMH guidelines.
  • Provide timely information and feedback to the Wellness Center Director in regard to team, program, or member issues; provide emergency coverage as needed.
