About The Position

Tanium is seeking a Program Manager to own program management for product development activities across an assigned portfolio, from ideation through go-to-market, in close partnership with portfolio product leaders in the CTO’s organization. This is a build role focused on designing, implementing, and iterating program management processes for a spec-driven, AI-first product development organization. The Program Manager represents the Product Organization in collaboration with Engineering, UX, Enablement, and Marketing, and drives cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders, toward decisions and deadlines. The role requires building momentum amid ambiguity and incomplete information. The position follows Tanium’s hybrid schedule and currently requires employees to work in the office at least three days per week in Durham, North Carolina, or Bellevue, Washington.

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several concurrent, cross-stage workstreams while maintaining precision.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and turning partial information into reasonable decisions and concrete work.
  • Track record of driving timelines and holding stakeholders accountable.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Aptitude for leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools, to drive efficiencies.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including comfort delivering to executive audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or significantly maturing a process, rather than only operating within an existing one.

  • Coordinate the spec-driven product launch process end-to-end, from ideation to delivery, for a product portfolio area.
  • Build and continually surface efficiencies in the product launch process.
  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams across stakeholders and stages, keeping work moving without waiting for perfect alignment.
  • Set timelines, hold cross-functional partners accountable, and communicate product readiness to leadership.
  • Push back on scope creep or slipping deadlines when needed.
  • Drive cross-functional subject matter experts, UX, Engineering, Enablement, Legal, and Marketing toward decisions.
  • Develop first-draft product enablement and marketing materials from directional input.
  • Act as a proxy for the Product Managers whose portfolios are managed, representing their priorities and making calls in their absence.
