About The Position

Program Managers are the leaders of program success at Barber-Nichols (BN) across the product lifecycle, serving as the primary BN contact for customers and ensuring that the customer’s voice is clear within the organization. Program Managers leverage their excellent skills, flexible tools, and broad influence to drive program budget, scope, and schedule success. Program Managers also support the Sales and Engineering teams to shape programs and individual contracts for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as engineering, economics, or business; alternatively, additional relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, such as program management, project management, or leading projects in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Travel up to 20% of working time.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships.
  • Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Reliable attention to detail, especially under deadline pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e., current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Program Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience managing programs or projects in a high compliance manufacturing environment, such as medical, aerospace, space, defense, or similar.
  • Preferred: Experience managing customer relationships.
  • Preferred: Experience in a rapid engineering development environment.
  • Preferred: Experience identifying and driving improvements, such as Green or Black Belt projects.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (DFARS, ITAR, etc.).
  • Preferred: Experience with program and project management systems and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional program teams.
  • Support Sales with accurate program estimates to maximize program success.
  • Use and improve project and program management tools.
  • Articulate and manage programmatic risks.
  • Track, forecast, and model schedule, scope, and budget for assigned programs.
  • Formulate, plan, and execute recovery plans for major program variances to schedule, scope, or budget.
  • Lead customer relationships, acting as the voice of the customer inside the organization and working collaboratively with customers to solve challenges.
  • Identify and support interdepartmental corrective and preventative actions to drive improved performance.
  • Foster a positive, constructive culture using BN’s core values
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Program Management, or others as delegated.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000.
