About The Position

This role is Responsible for identifying, developing, and managing the implementation of all facets of the NCI Corporate Services Department. Working Collaboratively this position is responsible for the planning and implementation of the initiatives and programs that support Nissan's corporate priorities under the department. Overall responsibility for NCI facilities, developing and controlling operational and capital budgets, defining long-term strategic departmental and facility plans and managing a team of vendor contractors who provide onsite service and support of the department. Vendor services include facility maintenance, facility operational and capital projects, internal administrative services, customer and employee services, food service, physical and access security & Ministry guided health and safety programs. This role supports Corporate Real Estate in communications and transactions relating to real estate for both corporately owned and leased facilities. Building and maintaining key relationships cross functionally provides the basis for understanding internal priorities associated with facility and administrative operations. Strategizing, proposing, and planning for future requirements of individual business areas with a focus on health, safety, sustainability and employee engagement is critical to success in this position. This role is responsible for end-to-end development processes, from design and development to construction management, to project close-out and development and implementation of ongoing maintenance. Reporting directly to the NNA Corporate Facilities Engineering Manager, this role requires a significant amount of autonomy, personal organization, time management and project prioritization. This role requires significant critical thinking skills with the aptitude and experience to advocate to leadership for high quality, efficient and effective decisions, and the ability to drive momentum through implementation. This role is accountable to perform special projects requiring high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity. Is responsible for presenting to all levels of leadership in formal and informal presentations and meeting discussion. Acts as an interdepartmental liaison, subject matter expert, and coordinator, providing recommendations on budgets and design plans, and overseeing the execution of actual project completion. This role develops and manages operational and capital budgets for corporately operated facilities. Completes and reports accurate financials including accruals, forecasting and adjustments to budgets as per directed task. Communicates and resolves variances as required. Is responsible for ensuring that all departmental invoices are received and processed within required parameters of contract, validating, and charging appropriately against the associated budget lines. This role requires significant collaboration with cross-functional teams (Purchasing, Legal, Project Management) in advanced sourcing activities related to the facility operation and corporate service contracts including development of scope, identifying and short-listing qualified vendors, validating, and approving contract specifications, participating in tender activities and securing required funding. As the Key Stakeholder for 3rd party operational vendor contracts, this position manages the execution of all contracts, initiating and leading escalations as needed and participating in business reviews, KPI management and performance improvement plans.

Requirements

  • Experience in facility management in a corporate environment.

  • Project management proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to external and internal stakeholders in leadership positions.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the proficiency to develop and manage capital plans and budgets.
  • High degree of professional autonomy and extensive vendor management experience.
  • Collaborative, organized, and execution oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in Canada and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.
