About The Position

North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) is responsible for developing a collaborative system of care for children, adolescents and adults with severe mental illness and other serious emotional disturbances, as well as those experiencing a substance use disorder. This position’s actions and work must align with NTBHA values and goals, regulations, and policies and procedures, and meet all documentation standards and regulatory requirements. Our Children’s Crisis Respite program is designed to be short-term and community-based for children who need direct supervision and care. The Program Manager will actively participate in staffing's to determine best treatment for recovery. Travel may be required as part of this role’s duties. Travel can vary from 20% to 100% per day. This would include all counties within NTBHA Catchment area (Dallas, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro & Rockwall Counties). This role may be required to use a fleet vehicle and/or a personal vehicle for business needs. This may include, but is not limited to field & home visits, offsite meetings, co-located sites and/or pick up items for business needs, etc. If your program requires transport of individuals, this would only be allowed with a company vehicle and approval from management. This position is classified as exempt and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet organizational needs, including adjusting work hours as necessary to ensure job responsibilities are completed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
Must meet the minimum qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Community Services (QMHPCS) as outlined in the Texas Administrative Code 353.1415(a)(1), required.
One or more years of experience as a QMHP with direct care of persons with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Experience participating as a member of a treatment team that develops and monitors treatment plans for persons with chronic & serious mental illness.
Current knowledge of local community resources, providers, and social supports for homeless and indigent populations within the NTBHA service area.
Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license.
Must possess and maintain auto insurance.
Pass and maintain a clear background check.
Must be able to work on and have knowledge of a PC (personal computer).
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software.

Nice To Haves

Preference given to experience in psychiatric crisis service settings.
Understanding of and experience with HHSC programming and systems preferred, including Texas Resilience and Recovery, CMBHS, and CARE.

Responsibilities

Assist in clinical decision making regarding both admissions and discharges.
Create and document a person-centered crisis recovery plan.
Be an integral part of the treatment team for each individual.
Assess individuals’ needs on a daily basis.
Facilitate house meetings for both staff and house members.
Provide therapeutic intervention in potential crisis situations and assist the team in ensuring the appropriate level of care.
Assist house staff with driving, cleaning, cooking, and yardwork as needed.
Recognize problems and identify and facilitate solutions.
Communicate effectively and use effective interpersonal skills.
Foster strong, positive, and effective working relationships with inter-agency and intra-agency team members.
