About The Position

Troy Design and Manufacturing (TDM) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company that utilizes advanced manufacturing processes like 3D design and printing, laser cutting, and automation for prototype and low-volume production of components for Ford vehicles. The Chicago modification center facility specializes in vehicle modifications for police interceptor platforms. Requirements

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience of 2+ years in a manufacturing process environment.
  • MS Suite experience – Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating and budget planning.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Flexible, positive attitude and leadership characteristics.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive related process experience.
  • Resource planning experience.
  • Previous skilled trade supervision is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer contact for program planning.
  • Develop customer relationships and integrate TDM into vehicle teams.
  • Effectively roll out program deliverables and their impact to prototype and/or production tooling shops.
  • Conduct reviews and/or compose timelines, engineering data, and deliverables before program kick-off.
  • Lead kick-off meetings.
  • Participate in Engineering Change activities to support programs.
  • Update schedules following kick-off and upon receipt of engineering changes that affect program timing.
  • Analyze prototype concern sheets and review potential production impacts with Project Managers.
  • Conduct status meetings and assist the manufacturing team in containment planning for internal/external publishing.
  • Participate in the 8-D cross-functional team when required and contribute to lessons learned or debriefing processes.
  • Monitor and understand tooling status.
  • Attend customer-directed meetings as required.
  • Participate in end-item quality reviews and act as the liaison to the vehicle assembly site, attending AIMS issue meetings and conducting in-plant follow-up.
