About The Position

Pilot Company is seeking a People Technology Intern to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This internship offers valuable experience at the intersection of technology, human resources, and business operations. The intern will help improve the tools and systems that support team members, working closely with experienced People Technology professionals. The role involves supporting the optimization and adoption of Workday and other HR technologies by gathering feedback, analyzing system usage, and identifying improvement opportunities. The intern will collaborate with business partners and technical teams to ensure people systems deliver a seamless employee experience.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, curiosity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and teams.
• A passion for technology and improving the employee experience.
• Individuals who are driven, reliable, authentic, and welcoming.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with system integrations or process mapping is highly valued.
• Experience with Visio, HCM systems, or Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support People Technology initiatives: Help evaluate and improve the systems and technologies that support team members across the organization, including Workday and other HR platforms.
• Gather and analyze user feedback: Partner with business functions and field teams to identify pain points, assess user adoption, and understand how employees interact with people technologies.
• Drive data-informed recommendations: Analyze system usage, processes, and feedback to identify opportunities for enhancements, improved governance, and stronger data quality.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with business partners, HR functions, and IT teams to support technology solutions that improve the overall employee experience.
