About The Position

Pilot Company is seeking a Financial Systems Intern to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee for the summer of 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of accounting and information technology, focusing on maintaining and enhancing core financial systems. The intern will be a key part of the Financial Systems team, responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the general ledger system, ensuring the accuracy and up-to-date status of the company's financial structure and data hierarchy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of technical challenges and financial processes.

Requirements

A student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to handle and analyze large data sets.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the company.

Nice To Haves

A senior (set to graduate in May or December 2027) is preferred.
Experience with other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Infor, Microsoft Access) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger system, including adding business units, accounts, ledgers, etc. and ensuring the proper structure and hierarchy.
Support the team in managing and analyzing large financial data sets.
Work on projects that require both a financial and a technical perspective.
Collaborate with various departments across the company to ensure system accuracy and efficiency.
Provide support to team members on day-to-day tasks related to system maintenance and improvement as well as internal financial reporting.
