About The Position

Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is hiring part-time instructors to teach the CATCH My BREATH evidence-based youth vaping prevention program in English in school-based and other community settings throughout Davis County. The program is grant funded through the Davis School District and conducted in partnership with Communities That Care coalitions. Instructors teach the program according to its curriculum and bring parents and youth together for family activities during the family portion of each session. Each course meets once a week for seven weeks. Sessions run from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.; instructors must arrive by 5:30 p.m. A meal is provided before class for instructors, childcare providers, and families. Instructors are paid $20 per hour for conducting the program and for one hour of preparation before each session, totaling 4.5 paid hours per session. Classes are generally held at schools, city buildings, or local businesses. Instructors need a valid driver's license and a vehicle to travel to program sites and transport supplies, as well as regular computer access at least twice weekly during the course. Instructors are hired on a yearly basis, with continued employment dependent on performance and program needs. An online COSP training and successful certification by program trainers are required after hiring. Some trained instructors may serve as substitutes or reserves depending on enrollment and the number of groups. Instructors will receive two fidelity observations. COSP manuals are loaned by Davis Behavioral Health and remain its property. The position is not eligible for the agency benefits program, but all DBH employees may use its Employee Assistance Program through Intermountain LiVe Well. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
