Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is hiring part-time instructors to teach the CATCH My BREATH youth vaping-prevention program in English in school-based and other community settings across Davis County. The position is grant funded through the Davis School District in partnership with Communities That Care coalitions. Instructors teach the program according to its curriculum and fidelity requirements. Program sessions include instruction for youth on the dangers of vaping and family activities that bring parents and youth together. Classes meet once a week for seven weeks and last 2.5 hours, with instructors expected to arrive at least 30 minutes before families arrive. Instructors are paid $20 per hour for conducting the program and for one hour of preparation before each session, for a stated total of 4.5 compensated hours per session. A meal is provided before class for instructors, childcare providers, and families. Classes are held in community locations, typically schools, city buildings, or local businesses. Instructors need a valid driver's license and a vehicle to travel to program sites and transport supplies. They must also be able to access a computer regularly, at least twice a week during the seven-week course, for training, preparation, and other employment purposes. Instructors are hired on a yearly basis; continued employment depends on performance and program needs. Some trained instructors may serve as substitutes or reserves depending on enrollment and the number of groups held. Instructors receive two fidelity observations, and COSP manuals are lent to them for use while teaching and remain the property of Davis Behavioral Health. Hiring schedules listed in the posting include evening classes in North Davis, Layton, and South Davis, with the specified weekday and date ranges. Dates are presented as listed in the posting, including an incomplete year for the North Davis schedule. The selected candidate must complete online COSP training after hiring and be certified by program trainers. Employment is contingent on successful completion of training and certification, a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screening. DBH is a drug-free workplace and, because it works with federal grants, does not permit medical marijuana use.
