About The Position

Walker’s Imaginarium is a first-of-its-kind 16,000 square foot child enrichment center – akin to a children’s museum – located at Manning Family Children’s main campus. Numerous exhibits and spaces for programming offer pediatric patients and their families and friends opportunities to find joy, respite, and connection during hospital visits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 2 years of prior work experience
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children
  • Positive and engaging demeanor
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 Suite, POS, CRM and/or visitor management system
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a strong guest service orientation
  • Ability to interact with hospital employees along with outside personnel in a professional and responsible manner
  • Articulate in oral and written communication
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of or current enrollment in Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the space and supervising the Play Facilitators on weekends and/or evenings.
  • Engaging with children/patients and parents/guardians to facilitate intentional exploration and play.
  • Interacting with caregivers using researched best practices in childhood development.
  • Serving as a friendly face and source of information about exhibits, programming, and wayfinding to all patients, families, staff, and visitors of the Imaginarium.
  • Ensuring knowledge of all exhibits and their associated loose parts.
  • Promoting cleanliness and safety within each space.
  • Performing front-desk check-in through the visitor management system.
  • Engaging with medical professionals to transport patients to and from their rooms.
  • Ensuring that all visitors of the Imaginarium maximize their experiences in each exhibit through safe and joyful play.
