About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the registration and inspection processes for family child care providers and family, friend, and neighbor providers. The role involves conducting home inspections, providing training and technical assistance, managing administrative tasks related to registration and payments, and recruiting new providers. The position also includes investigating complaints, administering First Aid and CPR training, and assisting with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Two to three years proven experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Excellent computer skills are required and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have a car and valid driver’s license as travel is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a two-year college degree or other additional training beyond high school.
  • Bi-lingual/Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mandatory CCDBG Orientation training to prospective family child care providers and family friend and neighbor providers
  • Manage FCC Registration process in accordance with the Manual of Requirements for Family Child Care
  • Manage Approved Home process in accordance with DFD policy
  • Perform all home inspections for FCC, initial and renewal
  • Perform all home inspections for Family, Friend and Neighbor providers, initial and annual re-inspection
  • Record all FCC registration and renewal payments
  • Review and understand all Inspection forms for both FCC and FFN Inspections
  • Perform all FCC Program Observations
  • Perform all FFN Program Observations
  • Send electronic reminders for the performance of renewals in NJCCIS
  • Review registrations submitted for omissions, send requests for omitted information
  • Send reminders for renewal to be done in NJCCIS
  • Review all renewal information for omissions and send pertinent reminders
  • Issue Temporary Certificates of Registration.
  • Issue new Certificate of Registration.
  • Monitor the required number of FCC homes/ month per OOL regulations
  • Ensure data is accurate on monitoring reports
  • Review and learn the Manual of Requirements for Family Child Care Homes
  • Utilize Licensing software through the NJCCIS portal (eXpedite), synchronize to ASCEND
  • Ensure information is accurate in NJCCIS
  • Ensure providers complete program profile annually
  • Learn online CARI process for all in home providers
  • Attend Family Child Care Organization NJ meetings monthly (FCCONJ) (travel required)
  • Attend quarterly Office of Licensing meeting at designation OOL venue (travel required)
  • Provide technical assistance to registered family child care providers
  • Recruit new family child care providers
  • Attend all community events for the purpose of recruiting new FCC providers
  • Investigate complaints.
  • Submit in a timely manner all required paperwork that is pertinent to any complaint
  • Attend classes to learn the delivery of First Aid and CPR training
  • Perform CPR/ First Aid training
  • Explain ECC payment information to FFN’s and FCC providers who accept subsidies
  • Enroll FCC providers in the Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • Perform Child and Adult Food Care Program monitoring for FCC providers enrolled in the food program as required by regulation
  • Submit in a timely manner all regulatory paperwork for CACFP
  • Assist in the meal counts for CACFP, entering information into the database
  • Perform technical assistance visits to FCC and FFN homes to assist parents in the use of IVR for e-Child Care attendance purposes as needed
