Current research areas include structural biology, virology, metabolism, gene regulation, cell and molecular biology, chemical biology, biophysics, systems biology, synthetic biology and computational biology. The department fosters a highly interactive environment, with a culture of collaboration and intellectual exchange that supports interdisciplinary research and innovation. The scientific environment at UW–Madison provides exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across the biological sciences, engineering, and data science. Faculty benefit from access to state-of-the-art facilities and centers, including the NMRFAM, the UW-Madison Cryo-EM Research Center, and many other advanced resources that support all aspects of biochemistry. The university’s collaborative culture and strong cross-disciplinary programs create a uniquely supportive setting for developing innovative and impactful research programs. The position is an academic (9-month) tenure-track (junior) or tenured (mid-career or senior) faculty position.
