About The Position

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member for the fall of 2027. This position is for an Assistant or Associate Professor with a 9-month academic appointment, and potential for a summer appointment. The focus areas include guidance, navigation, and control of air and space vehicles; AI/ML for aerospace control; and safety-critical, verifiable, and trustworthy aerospace autonomy. The role involves teaching, mentoring graduate students, developing an independent research program, participating in departmental activities, and serving the profession.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related science and/or engineering discipline

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach courses in the Aerospace Engineering department
  • Advise and mentor graduate students
  • Develop an independent externally funded research program at the forefront of aerospace engineering
  • Participate in all aspects of the department’s activities
  • Serve the profession
