Tenure-Track: Assistant or Associate Professor (Materials & Structures)
About The Position
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member for a 9-month academic appointment, with a potential summer appointment. The position begins in Fall 2027 and considers candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor levels. The focus is on research interests in advanced composites and architectured materials, including solid mechanics, multiscale modeling, and advanced manufacturing to tailor material properties for structural, functional, adaptive, and multifunctional applications. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, mentor graduate students, establish an externally funded research program, and contribute to departmental and professional activities.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related science and/or engineering discipline

- Research interests aligning with advanced composites and architectured materials, integrating solid mechanics, multiscale modeling, and advanced manufacturing to systematically tailor microstructure and higher-order architectures for structural, functional, adaptive, and multifunctional properties beyond conventional material systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach courses in Aerospace Engineering program
- Advise and mentor graduate students
