Tenure-Track/Tenured: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
About The Position
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSEN) at Texas A&M University's College of Engineering is seeking to fill one full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The appointment begins August 1, 2027, with a 9-month academic term and potential for a summer appointment. The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the synthesis, processing, and consolidation of powder-based metals and ceramics. Priority will be given to those researching powder synthesis techniques like atomization and milling, and the underlying science of heat transfer, solidification, and microstructure evolution in advanced materials. Successful candidates will contribute to the Center for Alloy and Powder Synthesis (CAPS) and collaborate with the NSF Autonomous Robotic Metallurgist Materials Innovation Platform (ARM-MIP). The department is a growing entity within the College of Engineering, with a significant number of undergraduate and graduate students, and offers strong opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and research.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in materials science and engineering or a closely related engineering degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
