About The Position

The Jacobs School of Music is looking for candidates for a position in the Percussion Department, focusing on general/orchestral percussion/timpani. Applicants with additional skills in drum set and/or world percussion are welcome. The role requires expertise and versatility in teaching all facets of percussion. The chosen candidate will be expected to attract and prepare talented students for diverse percussion careers. Responsibilities include studio instruction for undergraduate and graduate percussion students, chamber music coaching, and potentially teaching an orchestral repertoire class (percussion/timpani). The position also involves participation in school-wide committees, departmental hearings, auditions, recruitment, master classes, and other departmental activities.
