About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Microeconomics for Public Policy (API5126C) during the 2027 Winter Semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, within the Academic Unit of Public and International Affairs. The course focuses on applying microeconomic theory to analyze public policies, covering topics such as consumer theory, firm theory, market mechanisms, and general equilibrium. It aims to provide a framework for understanding resource allocation and welfare consequences of policies like taxes, subsidies, and regulation, using case studies of government intervention.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Economics
  • Good working knowledge of the government and the formulation of public policies
  • Ability to teach in English
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • Experience in teaching Economics in the context of a multidisciplinary program (i.e. for non-specialists)
  • Competence in a second language (active)
