About The Position
The Department of English at the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor for ENG1120, Selected Topics in Literature and Composition, during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course focuses on developing critical reading skills and coherent discourse, with an emphasis on the proper use and acknowledgement of sources. Readings will span multiple genres and will serve as the basis for discussion and frequent written assignments. This course is not repeatable for credit and is not intended for English Majors or Honours students. The expected enrollment is 70 students.
Requirements
- Ph.D (English)
- Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach ENG1120, Selected Topics in Literature and Composition.
- Develop and deliver course content focusing on critical reading, discourse, and source citation.
- Facilitate discussions and provide feedback on frequent written assignments.
- Adhere to the academic year schedule and university policies.
