About The Position

The Department of English at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ENG1120, a course focused on the development of critical reading skills and coherent discourse. This course involves the study of source usage and acknowledgement, with topic-based readings across multiple genres to facilitate discussion and frequent written assignments. It is not repeatable for credit and is not intended for English Majors or Honours students. The course will be taught in English and is scheduled for Mondays from 13:00-14:30 and Wednesdays from 11:30-13:00, with the possibility of schedule changes. This is an online course.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in English.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

  • Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.

  • Teach ENG1120: Selected Topics in Literature and Composition.
