About The Position

The University of Austin’s Center for Sciences invites applications for Mathematics faculty positions at any academic rank: Assistant, Associate, or full Professor. Faculty teach talented and motivated students in small classes, with an annual teaching load typically totaling 18 quarter hours across all class levels. They teach in their areas of specialty in upper-division courses and may teach more broadly in related areas in lower-division courses. The position combines undergraduate teaching and student mentorship with research or advanced work in technology, and service focused on innovation and initiative. Faculty help develop UATX as a model of higher education and contribute to a Mathematics Concentration that bridges theoretical rigor and practical computation. Appointments are long-term academic positions supported by renewable five-year contracts; UATX does not use a traditional tenure system. The anticipated start date is Fall 2027. Part-time appointments will be considered, and interested applicants should indicate this preference in their cover letter. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with rank, and includes comprehensive benefits and a research stipend. Applicants should submit a CV and cover letter describing their interest, relevant teaching and research experience, and alignment with the university’s mission. Application review begins immediately, with priority review for applications submitted by January 4, 2027.
