About The Position

Under the direction of the Chair, Apprenticeship, Automotive and Mechanical Trades, the Professor will be required to teach courses in the Automotive Department within ACCE. The Professor will be responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students. This posting is for part-time instructors and professors and is used to collect applications for future employment opportunities. While there may not be an immediate vacancy, submissions are regularly reviewed and qualified candidates are contacted as positions become available. The application will be kept on file and considered for upcoming roles that align with the candidate's profile. Requirements

• Required Qualifications in one of the following trades: Truck and Coach Technician 310T, Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer 310B, or Automotive Service Technician 310S.
• Minimum 5 years in the field of Apprenticeship Training, Automotive and Mechanical Trades.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience preferably in a postsecondary setting is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students.
• Designing, revising, and updating courses, including consulting with administrators, faculty, advisory committees, employers, and students; defining and evaluating learning outcomes; specifying and approving learning approaches and resources; incorporating educational technologies; and reviewing and revising curriculum.
• Teaching assigned courses, including delivering regularly scheduled instruction, ensuring student awareness of learning outcomes and evaluation techniques, providing tutoring and academic advising, utilizing available resources including educational technologies, evaluating student progress/achievement, and assuming responsibility for overall assessment.
• Developing and creating a learning environment conducive to success for all students.
• Providing academic leadership, including participating in curriculum and departmental/faculty meetings, liaising with community members, engaging in program, Department, School or Faculty, and College promotion.
• Remaining current in the field of study and maintaining awareness of emerging trends and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education.
