The School of Molecular Sciences (SMS) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for the position of Professor and Director of the School of Molecular Sciences. SMS is a distinguished unit at ASU, pioneering research and education in molecular sciences, chemistry, and biochemistry, and addressing real-world problems in energy, sustainability, and human health. It is part of The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and comprises 60 tenure-track and 30 non-tenure-track faculty. SMS serves over 1,900 undergraduate majors, 10,000 enrolled undergraduates, and 160 PhD and 50 MS students across three graduate programs. The school is dedicated to evolving educational offerings, including new degrees and online programs, and fostering interdisciplinary research. The Director will lead SMS with a broad, ambitious, and impactful vision, acting as a world-class scientist with proven leadership, strong interpersonal skills, a history of securing funding, a commitment to teaching innovation, and an interest in external stakeholder engagement. The Director will articulate a future vision for SMS as a field leader, aligning with the University Charter's goals. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the academic core of ASU, focused on improving communities and supporting faculty professional development.
