The Auburn University Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2027. The ISE Department at Auburn University has a strong research program and a long tradition of excellence in both graduate and undergraduate education. The department comprises 25 faculty members (17 tenure track), approximately 200 graduate students (80 in the doctoral program), and 478 undergraduate students. Our student population has grown by over 230% in the last 10 years, and 10 new faculty members have joined the department during that period through retirement replacements and growth. Our research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration, among many others. In addition to fundamental science, our work impacts manufacturing, national security, health, transportation, technology, and workforce development. Auburn ISE combines the resources of an R1 land-grant university with a collegial college town, strong schools, and an expanding research park. Our department also fosters hands-on learning opportunities, providing access to teaching laboratories, including the Tiger Motors Lab, which simulates a real manufacturing environment, and the College of Engineering’s Design and Innovation Center, an 11,000-square-foot makerspace. Auburn University holds the R1 Carnegie research institution designation and is one of the nation's premier land, sea, and space-grant institutions.
