About The Position

The Professional Shopper is responsible for accurately and efficiently shopping and processing orders placed through Food City’s Curbside Pickup service. The role includes coordinating orders, communicating professionally with customers, processing payments, maintaining order freshness and accuracy, and ensuring a courteous customer experience. The shopper also follows company procedures for transactions, loss prevention, coupons, and regulated products, while maintaining organized work areas and attending scheduled on-site shifts.

Requirements

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain a customer-focused culture.
Ability to operate a cash register, point-of-sale (POS) system, telephone, and other equipment as needed.
Ability to work as part of a team and interact with customers of various socioeconomic levels, vendors, guests, and KVAT corporate representatives.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks.
Ability to maintain regular contact and interaction with individuals at various levels.
Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge, greet, and engage customers while communicating the value of Curbside Pickup.
Coordinate and prioritize online orders; shop, pack, label, stage, and facilitate pickup of orders accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accountability for the freshness and accuracy of every order.
Communicate with customers in a timely and professional manner about order status and out-of-stock items, and offer suitable substitutions.
Build relationships with customers and learn their shopping preferences.
Maintain transaction and daily shift reports.
Scan customer orders according to company policy and account for tendered transactions.
Keep desk and staging areas clean and organized.
Know the Food City website and assist with customer inquiries.
Communicate customers’ special needs and requests to the Store Manager.
Understand Food City promotions to educate customers about savings and upsell when possible.
Follow Loss Prevention audit procedures and Professional Shopper protocols.
Follow applicable laws and company procedures for alcohol, tobacco, WIC, coupons, check cashing, and payment transactions.
Provide efficient and courteous service to store locations in support of the company mission.
Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with time and attendance policies.
