Professional Qualification Evaluator
About The Position
PenBay is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented Professional Qualification Evaluator to provide full-time technical support services to the United States Coast Guard. The role requires Level III Professional Qualification Evaluator proficiency, verified through documented experience reviewing units of work with an error rate below 9%. The evaluator must also demonstrate successful completion of Government-provided Level I, Level II, and Level III training courses. Evaluators verify receipt of general application requirements and whether applicants meet the professional requirements for the merchant mariner endorsements sought. They recommend issuance of Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMCs) and endorsements for fully qualified applicants, and determine whether additional information or medical review is required. A Government PQE trainer ensures evaluators receive current training, process changes, and instructions for evaluating merchant mariner applications.
Requirements
- Demonstrate successful completion of Government-provided Level I, Level II, and Level III training courses.
- Possess Level III Professional Qualification Evaluator proficiency, demonstrated by documented experience reviewing units of work with an error rate of less than 9%.
- At least 8 years of professional experience.
- High school diploma.
Nice To Haves
- Curriculum assessment experience.
- A BA/BS with a maritime curriculum.
- At least 10 years of professional experience.
- Curriculum development experience or familiarity with course design.
- Experience and knowledge working with the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
Responsibilities
