About The Position

Nuovo Artistic Studios is seeking a skilled Professional Makeup Artist for an on-call, as-needed backup role within their Dallas team. This independent contractor (1099) position involves creating elevated makeup looks that enhance natural beauty and boost client confidence. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced studio environment, provides a polished and welcoming client experience, and can offer flexibility for emergencies and studio coverage. The role requires meticulous technique, a deep understanding of professional beauty products, precise color matching, flawless eyelash application, and the ability to work with diverse clientele, skin tones, face shapes, and age groups. The artist must maintain strict sanitization of tools and uphold a spotless, sanitary workspace. Experience with studio lighting and a portfolio demonstrating exceptional skill, versatility, and attention to detail are essential. A warm and welcoming presence, strong time management skills (completing makeup in 60 minutes), and a valid Barbicide Certification (or willingness to obtain it) are also required.

Requirements

• Experienced makeup artist with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional skill, versatility, and a keen eye for detail.
• Known for a warm and welcoming presence, making clients feel comfortable, valued, and at ease.
• Recognized for strong time management in fast-paced settings—completing makeup in 60 minutes while remaining organized, efficient, and calm under pressure.
• You understand how makeup performs under studio lighting and know how to enhance features subtly but powerfully.
• Must currently hold a valid Barbicide Certification, or obtain the certification prior to starting employment with Nuovo.

• Confident in working with diverse skin tones, face shapes, and age groups to deliver personalized, flattering results.
