About The Position

The Makeup Artist is part of a team responsible for preparing Fox News anchors, reporters, and contributors to appear on television. The role requires proficiency in television makeup artistry for both men and women, the ability to work quickly, and an understanding of the pace of cable television news. Artists provide professional, helpful service to talent and visitors and help maintain a clean, well-stocked makeup room. Schedules may need to change, including starting earlier or working later than planned, to meet the needs of a news bureau responding to breaking news.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability in television makeup for both men and women.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hair and makeup for television news.
Meticulous and careful work, with a high personal standard of excellence.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to maintain highly professional behavior when greeting and attending to people appearing on air.
Promptness and dependability.

Responsibilities

Apply makeup appropriate for television to men and women, often within a short timeframe.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, helpful demeanor with talent and other staff.
Use good judgment to solve problems, identify potential issues in advance, and propose solutions.
Work collaboratively, assist other artists preparing talent for air, and share responsibility for the makeup room.
Keep the makeup room and personal work area clean, tidy, and free of clutter.
Identify products that need replenishing so supplies remain well stocked.
Adjust schedules, including working earlier or later than planned, to accommodate breaking news needs.
