About The Position

Career Developers Inc. is recruiting a Professional Liability Associate for a full-service national law firm with more than 250 attorneys, 16 offices, and over 25 practice areas. The attorney will join the firm’s growing litigation practice and handle sophisticated professional liability matters involving a diverse range of professionals and businesses. The role involves independently managing cases through all phases of litigation and working closely with a collaborative team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of litigation experience.
• Admission to practice in New Jersey.
• Experience handling matters in state and federal courts.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and representing clients in mediations and arbitrations.
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Admission to practice in New York.
• Experience in professional liability, legal malpractice, insurance defense, or complex commercial litigation.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of professional liability litigation from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend and advocate at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Handle professional negligence, malpractice, errors and omissions claims, and other complex liability disputes.
• Manage discovery, motion practice, expert witness coordination, and case deadlines in state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to provide strategic guidance and achieve favorable outcomes.
